Foundation
Course September 2008
This is a one year course for students who wish to further their understanding and practice of Hatha Yoga. The practical component
is based upon the learning of the prelude forms of Shadow Yoga appropriate to
the individual's ability. This requires attendance of at least one taught class and one
self-practice class/week.
The theory component includes an Introduction
to Ayurveda, Anatomy and Physiology and the study of Hatha Yoga texts that present the theoretical foundation of Hatha Yoga practice. The Foundation Course seminars will be held on 8 weekend seminars throughout the year on Saturdays 2-4.30pm and Sundays 10am-12.30pm and 2-4.30pm
The Foundation Course is a pre-requisite for Teacher Training. Applications for Teacher Training will be only be accepted from students who have satisfactorily completed the requirements of the Foundation Course. Applications for the Foundation course should be received by July 31 2008.
Course Assessment
Assessment of the Foundation Course will be through written assignments given throughout the year and through observation of the students' practical understanding as demonstrated in the self-practice classes. Regular attendance is therefore essential.
Course Fees
Fees for the theory component are payable at the beginning of the year and
are non-refundable and non-transferable. The cost for the year is £800.
Fees for classes and workshops are payable as you attend throughout the
year. Generally students purchase a 2-class/week ticket which costs £90/2 months.
